KBUT Donor Event
The Bluebird Real Estate office in historic downtown Crested Butte recently hosted a reception for local community radio station KBUT. Major donors were treated to hors d’oeuvres from Creative Catering which is operated by KBUT disc jockey Josephine Kellett. Live music was provided by Eli and Willa Emmitt, young prodigies of Compass Records recording artist and Crested Butte local Drew Emmitt.
KBUT board members and staff were on hand to mingle and express gratitude to its supporters. Bluebird principal Bud Bush serves on the KBUT board and hosts Transistor Radio, a weekly indie rock program on the station. “KBUT is a vital element of our community’s culture, and we are happy to be ongoing supporters,” Bud notes. “The station provides not only a wide variety of music from bluegrass to classical, but essential local news and important announcements related to everything from fire bans to road closures. You can even find your lost pet or phone from KBUT’s community updates!”
KBUT’s web site also hosts news updates, featured stories and community announcements. They have recently coordinated with the local chambers and event venues to host a valley wide calendar at gunnisonvalleycalendar.com, a one stop page for viewing all of the latest happenings.
Guests of the donor event were also offered Bluebird’s branded guitar pics, a nod to the company’s appreciation for music.
