Run with a World Champion

Bluebird was honored to be a leading sponsor of the inaugural Emma Coburn Elk Run 5K on Saturday benefiting Living Journeys, a cancer assistance and support network in the Gunnison valley.

Between winning the World Championships in Steeplechase and getting married in two weeks, Emma Coburn launched her first charity run, with expert guidance from her race director, Joel Vosburg of Bluebird Real Estate. The event drew a sold out field of 500 runners who included locals as well as an elite slate of world champions and Olympic medalists.

On race day, the sun parted the clouds, revealing the majestic Crested Butte beyond the starting line. The countdown and festive music proceeded a horseback procession of the leading racers through a gauntlet of cheering runners.

Through sponsorships, entry fees and an auction, the event surpassed all expectations raising over $18,000 for Living Journeys, which has been providing vital resources and encouragement to cancer victims and their families since 2000.
