Bluebird Sponsors Food Pantry Event

This past weekend Bluebird sponsored the third annual Soup Stone event benefiting the Gunnison Country Food Pantry. The name of the event has its origin from a European folk story which emphasizes the value of sharing ingredients and meals. This year’s function was hosted by the Secret Stash in the Red Room and featured delicious homemade soups from top local chefs, homemade breads and desserts, as well as festive live music from the Coal Creek Trio.

The need for food support in both ends of the Gunnison valley is growing. The Pantry distributes 16,000 pounds of food to over 900 households per month through distributions, pickups, emergency food boxes, kids packages and seniors programs.

Bluebird has been honored to be a title sponsor of the Soup Stone event since its inception. Donations go a long way, because the cost to feed a family for a year is $162 according to the Pantry staff. Please consider supporting the Gunnison Pantry as we approach the holiday season.
