Bluebird Kicks Off the Arts Festival with the Center for the Arts
Bluebird Real Estate co-hosted a kickoff reception with the Center for the Arts on Friday for the Crested Butte Arts Festival. The Arts Festival celebrated its 45th year of hosting art, cuisine and entertainment on Elk Avenue in the heart of downtown Crested Butte. Featuring 175 artists over a three day period, the Arts Festival also provides year-round sustainable arts outreach programs for the Gunnison Valley.
Jenny Birnie, Executive Director for the Center for the Arts gave an update to the supporters and clients of the Center and Bluebird announcing that construction had commenced for the new 25,000 square foot facility, which will feature seating for up to 330, a new Alpenglow outdoor stage, five class rooms and four art studios. Their capital campaign has raised over $11 million of the $15 million targeted.
Guests were greeted with acoustic guitar instrumentals from Chuck Grossman and hors d’oevres from Crested Butte’s Personal Chefs, Stacee VanAernem and Dana Zobs.
The kickoff reception is the first event in the new Bluebird space and coincides with the recent completion of the renovation of the building at 211 Elk Avenue. The new office features modern art and furnishings, custom furniture by Steve Gibbs and photographic canvases by Trevor Bona.
