2022 Bluebird Charitable Fund
At its core, Bluebird Real Estate values community, service and teamwork. We are here to respectfully serve, support and hold true these values to our team and clients. The Bluebird Charitable Fund is a prime example of our values at work. Each year, Bluebird maintains a charitable fund with proceeds from every closing commission the firm makes. The fund is comprised of contributions from all our associates as well as the company. It grows throughout the year and is given directly to organizations in our local community at the end of each year. In 2022, Bluebird was able to raise over $10,000 for local causes.
Bluebird agents nominate local organizations for these grant funds, and the Charitable Contributions Committee meets to review the nominations. The 2022 Bluebird Charitable Contributions Committee consisted of Maggie Dethloff, Jana Barrett, Allison Lee, Joel Vosburg, Patti Miller and Mary Hakala. This year’s committee felt it was most important to focus donations to organizations that support the basic needs of those struggling in our community. The majority of this year’s donations going to local humanitarian efforts. After all, it is the people that make this community so special.
The 2022 Charitable Fund recipients are as follows:
Living Journeys: a cancer support group that provides counseling, financial support and transportation to locally affected families.
CB State of Mind: a local network for suicide prevention support and communications.
Project Hope: a local organization that provides support and prevention for violence.
Gunnison Country Food Pantry: serves those in need by providing food assistance in a kind, confidential and supportive environment.
Hispanic Affairs Project: inspires immigrant communities to thrive in western Colorado through leadership development, advocacy and direct assistance.
Gunnison Valley Mentors: promotes the healthy growth of young people through one-to-one mentoring relationships and enrichment opportunities.
CBCS PTA: for School Support programs at Crested Butte Community School.
PAWS: a local animal shelter and adoption organization.
